There are slight variations in the catalyst content of these glues and both Polymite and Resintite have a shorter gel time than Semforite. Semforite is a slightly finer, more uniform flour with a shorter dissolving time.
This is a white, free-flowing polymer powder which is used in the production of plastic mouldings and as the main constituent in UF resin wood glue.
Shelf Life & Storage
The material is despatched with an expiry date of not less than 12 months. The powder should be stored in its original packaging in a cool, dry place. Care should be taken to ensure that the powder does not absorb moisture. In ideal conditions, the material will remain useable for 2 - 3 years, but it is worth noting that one of the main causes of deterioration in powdered products is condensation within the packaging - so all packs or containers should be stored at a constant temperature, away from outside walls and off concrete ground floors, etc.
Handling & Transport
This product is non-hazardous. The small amount of free formaldehyde in the powder may cause minor irritation if in contact with very sensitive skin. A dust mask should be worn when emptying bags, etc. The material should be kept dry and out of direct sunlight during transportation.
We may use alternative packaging to that illustrated, but packs are always double-sealed in polythene, bagged and boxed, and completely waterproof.
